Winter roads budget goes over budget because it snowed………really? Not record setting snowfalls mind you. Snow….which we get every year since…ummm…forever!
I’m not necessarily endorsing spending $25 million on a new Thunder Bay Art Gallery. What I am saying is that Prince Arthur’s Landing is the last place in the city that any publicly funded piece of infrastructure should be located. Why? Its all about public transit access. People without a car should not be required […]
Once again, parking at Prince Arthur’s Landing seems to be completely unregulated. As you can see, vehicles approaching from the south end of the park have this area significantly blocked. This is where people entering from the pedestrian overpass cross over to the Water Garden Pavilion. People also cross from the water Garden Pavilion to […]
Saw this sign on the window of the Cumberland Cinema building. Two underground levels of parking. Six storey building with 71 residential units. Hmmm. Proposed event centre location is down the street. Interesting. I wonder who bought the building?
All are government jobs…and yes that very much includes Bombardier which is heavily dependent on government contracts and government money. Your tax dollars in action. The full list is here. The next one on the list? The Government of Canada..FYI
Next time your group lobbies for the installation of a controlled pedestrian crossing and are told by City Hall that it costs too much, then maybe you can point the administrators to this intersection. Bay and Water street. City workers were busy making repairs to the pedestrian crosswalk signal that crosses Water street. Is there […]
Its amazing to see what the City of Thunder Bay allows as far as winter plugins is concerned. I have seen some pretty scary rigs. This situation has been going on for the better part of a week. I always thought there were strict codes when dealing with electricity. Electricity can kill you. Apparently, this […]
Oh quelle surprise! This shit has been going on since the beginning of time. Nobody ever does anything about it. Why??? Because politicians, upon retiring, look forward to appointments to the boards of all these crown/semi-autonomous agencies/corps. Federal, provincial, and municipal politicians ….all the hogs. The public purse is simply an all-you-can-eat buffet for […]
“If we are lending money that ostensibly we don’t have to kids who have no hope of making it back in order to train them for jobs that clearly don’t exist, I might suggest that we’ve gone around the bend a little bit” – Mike Rowe, TV Personality So why has the cost of post secondary […]
I am not so sure that the waterfront should be the only site being considered as a destination for the Thunder Bay Art Gallery. That is, of course, if our politicians are stupid enough to fund the $25 million project. A big “if” I might add. Algoma Street has two vacant pieces of land that […]
