Monday, Bova et al ‘s presentation will be ad for hotel and condos. The hotel will not contain a water park as promised by the developer. Wednesday, October 6 will be the day the developer will announce the hotelier. After this, the developer will start advertising for pre-sale of condominiums. This is necessary for the developers to get funding.
Tender 15 was supposedly pulled from Monday’s council meeting because there was no Remediation Tender & Summary Report. I understand Ms. Dugmore was supposedly too busy with the PM’s visit last week to write the report. There is no expalination why nshe could not write it this week.? Could the tender not have gone ahead without Stage 1 Summary Report ? I expect that this is not the case. There is more to this than meets the eye.
Tender 15, or the site remediation for the developer’s property will cost the taxpayers $1.1M plus. As of right now, there is no return on that money. Any return to the taxpayer is totally dependent on the developer and what the upscale condo market in Thunder Bay is like.
