Police board incapable of carrying out responsibilities: Sinclair
“We endorse the recommendations and we agree with Senator Sinclair that bold measures are needed. We will support any earnest efforts by the City of Thunder Bay and the board, but will continue to hold them accountable for their actions, or lack thereof,” said Fiddler in a NAN-issued release.

…“It is unacceptable however that an administrator was so hastily selected without any consultation from the Indigenous community and the Thunder Bay community in general…
Was a requirement of consultation mentioned in the report? If yes, then consult. If no, then lets pick the lucky bastard and move on. Who would want the job? Probably pays real well.
…Policing in Thunder Bay presents unique challenges and realities…
And what are those unique challenges? Any different than the challenges all other cities with a large indigenous population have policing their communities? Why is that? Oh that’s right…Thunder Bay and TBPS are racists. A racist behind every rock. Behind every tree. Of course. I should have known.
But there is the OIPRD report. The sloppy investigations. The nine cases of Indigenous deaths that the report recommends be reopened. All true. No arguments there.
But no non-indigenous murder cases were reviewed. So how do we know that similar errors were not made in other suspicious death cases? Other similar cases. Is the problem racism or just sloppy police work? Do we know the answer?
Oh yes, all First Nation Chiefs are politicians. Just remember that.
