Thunder Bay – Exactly What you Want In the Heart Of Your Entertainment District: A Self Storage Facility

Looming sale of Eaton’s building forces out arts group

The potential sale of the Eaton’s building is forcing arts groups that have called the site home for two decades to relocate.

The building, which had been the former home of the Eaton’s department store in Thunder Bay before it closed in the 1990s, is rumoured to be in the process of being sold to U-Haul.

Several of the groups that had been renting out space in the building have left after receiving eviction and termination of lease notices.

Among the groups searching for a new location is the Definitely Superior Art Gallery, which had been in the building for 20 of their 30 years. – Tbnewswatch

Told you about this back on April 29, 2018

As I said nine months ago:

Thunder Bay, could have used this building to create attraction that would draw people into the area. The city’s  “Entertainment District”.  Something such as the Thunder Bay Art Gallery.

The Thunder Bay Art Gallery’s proposed new location is on the waterfront. The area chosen is isolated and has no access to public transit.   Its soil is also contaminated.  The Art Gallery also has no money.

Think about this when the Art Gallery Project fund raising people come knocking on your door.

Seriously, this was an opportunity lost.  The largest building in the very centre of the City of Thunder Bay’s “Entertainment District” is going to be a self -storage depot.  THAT tells you everything you need to know about Thunder Bay.

Exactly.  This city is hopeless.

Well I hope U-Haul rebuilds the restaurant and keeps the mahogany counter. As for the Thunder Bay Art Gallery, they won’t get a penny from me or my family.

Yes, I felt the cold steel of the barrel. I was referring to the Art Gallery Project fund raising people that may come knocking on my door for a handout.
