The World – Why Renewables Can’t Save The Planet

Actually, the title should be ‘Why Renewables Can’t Save Us’. The planet would recover after we are long gone.  It has many times in the past.

I look at Fukushima and Chernobyl and figure nuclear power is too dangerous.  Solar and wind are safer. But does this make economic sense?  Are renewables any better for the planet? Can nuclear be made safe?

overpopulation is the problem, period. Doesn’t matter how “green” we go, no room, no resources left…mic drop!

Uh, true perhaps, but being wasteful greedy pigs that worship oil, disposable products and industrialized exploitation doesn’t exactly help, plus religious psychotics (yes, them too), would never permit birth restrictions, even though they are the primary perps of overpopulation. Regardless, Canadians are by far the worst consumers, polluters & energy abusers on the planet, so we really don’t have the right to say anything to anyone on this or really any environmental subject, other than a shameful sorry or 3 the the planet we so proudly ruin more than all else.

wrong, Asia is the worst destroyer of the planet , on all counts. Overpopulation, cruelty, pollution, species destruction, disease and pest exporting etc etc on a grand scale many many times worse than Canada, not even close.

You really have it backwards Bill Westly, and the statistics and data do not support what you are putting out there. The resources wasted by a million Canadians would satisfy the needs of a billion Asians, and much of their production pollution goes to satisfy our consumerist obsessions. & FYI – your ‘dog soup’ argument, besides being completely off topic, is just racist. You’re gross.

Anyone can quickly & easily peruse 10,000 links that back up the fact that Canadians are far worse polluters per capita than even the dirtiest of G20ers, but can you produce even one link that suggests the inverse? No? Didn’t think so!

P.S. Dropping the mic doesn’t prove you’re right, it just shows you are clumsy & careless & now you have a broken microphone.
