Is the City of Thunder Bay Administration so ashamed of what they have built on our waterfront that they use material from the 2008 plan in its advertising? Is the City of Thunder Bay Administration so ashamed of what they have built that they are afraid to show it to the public?
This ad should have had a disclaimer that actual development may vary from image or that the image shown does not represent the actual development .I am sure Ms. Evans would agree that truth in advertising is important and the public should expect and receive no less from its city administration.
Seeing how none of the above ad is true, I thought, why stop there. Why not go big or go home. So I created my own ad. One that contains as much truth as the official City of Thunder Bay offering.
Ignoring the truth about the waterfront is nothing new for city administration. I believe they have doing precisely that since 2008.
If you have been paying attention, visual information about the present Prince Arthur’s Landing is all but non-existent. The web site contains plans from 2008 and 2009. The above ad is all 2008 based. You have to wonder why.
As I said at the start of this blog entry. Is City of Thunder Bay Administration ashamed of what the $60M has bought the taxpayers of Thunder Bay? I have always argued that the finished product will be very underwhelming to visitors. If there is not hotel or condos, which is extremely possible, then I maintain the new waterfront is not much of an improvement over what was there back in 2007. That is a very depressing thing.
Heads should roll over this. People should be fired. The City of Thunder Bay spin machine will turn this pile of steaming shit into a diamond I’m sure. The Thunder Bay public believes everything that comes out of the various orifices of City Hall. Why would our government lie to us? Well, I believe they have before. I believe they will again. Lying as you know, is a hard habit to break.
