The walking hazard warning paint is faded beyond any level of effectiveness.
In that mass of cracks, this was found to be the only walking hazard.
Not sure why this kind of thing is a thing but it is.
I have no idea why this has not been repaired. Its at the entrance to the OLG Casino. Tourists have been known to be seen in the area.
See any recyclable material in there? Doesn’t matter…its all headed for the landfill site as there are zero recycle bins in the downtown core.
City walkable? Not here.
More photos of the new parking lot being constructed at the south end of Marina Park. This lot is tied in to the much hyped and much delayed Marriott/Delta Waterfront Hotel. The hotel will have valet parking.
This project will also provide underground utilities for the future $30 million plus 100% publicly funded, privately run art gallery. (additional posts here, here, here, here, here. just type “art gallery” or “tbag” into the search window)

This work should have been at the start of June. BEFORE thee start of summer. It would have cost the taxpayers the same as doing it in July/August.
Not sure why this is still here
There has not been a phone there for years.
The fixer-upper appears to need more fixing up. How long until this gets torn down?
The machines are not allowed to do that, but hey, this is Thunder Bay. Anything goes.
The new curb and gutter as well as the asphalt will now deteriorate at a much faster rate. Water will work its way into those cracks.
Just think, you and I paid a contractor to install the new curb and gutter and then paid another contractor to break it. Hurrah!
Eventually, it will look like this.
Damage done by snow clearing. Grader blades? Looks like it.
Yes, our civilization has finally come to this. People have to be warned to pay attention at intersections.
What I do not understand is who walks around staring at the ground? Phones? Yes. But just staring at the ground ignoring everything going on around you? Zombies? Are these supposed to encourage zombies to pay attention?
These markings will not have any effect on people using their phone or tablet.
What colour is the cone? You can see traces of the original orange colour in the area previously covered by reflective tape.
Contractors still use this and our highly salaried residents of City Hall think that is A’OK.
