Canada – If You Invite Refugees, They Are Going To Come.

Hmmm…remember when Canada’s chief virtue signaller and fearless leader Justin Trudeau decided to stick it to US President Donald Trump and his immigration policy by bragging about Canada’s open door policy when it comes to immigration.  He said Canada will welcome ALL refugees fleeing persecution, terror and war.  Trump immigration policy bad, Trudeau’s immigration policy good.

In Canada, Justin Trudeau Says Refugees Are Welcome

As President Trump’s executive order on immigration stranded people around the world and provoked condemnation, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau of Canada took to social media to restate the country’s open-door policy.

“To those fleeing persecution, terror & war, Canadians will welcome you, regardless of your faith,” Mr. Trudeau wrote on Twitter on Saturday afternoon. “Diversity is our strength.”

Another post showed him in photograph with a child, apparently a Syrian refugee who had just arrived, with the caption “#WelcomeToCanada.” The post was shared at least 224,000 times on Twitter.

Mr. Trudeau’s immediate priority after he took office in late 2015 was to drastically accelerate the entry of refugees from Syria. From that point to early January, the latest available figures, his administration has admitted 39,671 refugees into a country with a population of about 36 million.

Cameron Ahmad, Mr. Trudeau’s press secretary, declined to comment on whether the Twitter posts were an indication that Canada may welcome some refugees who now found themselves shut out of the United States. – New York Times

And then they came…by the thousands.  They just walked in.  Unannounced.

Illegal Immigrants Flee To Canadian Border As Trump Cracks Down On Immigration In The U.S.

President Trump’s crackdown on illegal immigrants in the United States is having unforeseen consequences for Canada. The flood of recent migrants crossing the Canadian border from the U. S. is unprecedented. Originally from Mexico, from Honduras, from El Salvadore, they come. Somalis with criminal records, Haitians fleeing expected cancellation of their American Temporary Protected Status and even a Syrian family flying into New York City on tourist visas, then making their way to Plattsburgh, where they took a taxi to the border.  All of them are fleeing to Canada in search of a better life. Many more are coming – by taxi, by bus and on foot responding to Prime Minister Trudeau’s January 2017 tweet: “To those fleeing persecution, terror & war, Canadians will welcome you, regardless of your faith. Diversity is our  strength #WelcomeToCanada.” – all of them crossing the border illegally. – Forbes

Did Trudeau not think that inviting the world’s refugees, or people who believe they are refugees to come to Canada would create issues?  Did he think the world was just going apply at a embassy or consulate when walking across a ditch is sooo much easier.  Plus you don’t have to wait.

Hundreds, maybe thousands of people walking across an unsecured border. What do you do? You tell people to stop coming.  That is what you do.  You close those wide open doors.  You do it quick.  Stem the tide.

Haitian-born Liberal MP off to Miami over asylum seekers coming to Canada

A Liberal MP born in Haiti is off to Miami this week as part of the federal government’s efforts to address the flow of Haitians crossing illegally into Canada to seek asylum.

Emmanuel Dubourg was appointed last week to a federal-provincial task force formed after thousands of people — mostly Haitians — crossed into Quebec since July.

They’ve come to seek asylum in the wake of a change in U.S. immigration policy that could lead to an increased number of deportations to Haiti and misinformation circulating on social media about Canada’s own policies.

The unexpected surge has forced the establishment of temporary camps along the border, with security and immigration officials working flat out to try and process the flow of people.

But the government has also begun trying to stop them from coming in the first place and that’s where Dubourg comes in.

Fluent in Creole and with strong ties in the Haitian diaspora, he’s being dispatched to Miami to give interviews and hold meetings in order to correct the record about Canada’s own immigration and asylum policies. – Global News

But they keep coming.  From all over the world.  So what do you do now?  You blame the problem on the Americans.  Its the American’s fault.  Of course it is.

Keep a ‘wary eye’ on U.S. travel visas, Goodale tells American counterpart

Canada’s Public Safety Minister has told his American counterpart to keep a “wary eye” on the travel visas it issues to the United States.

In an interview Sunday with CBC News, Goodale said Canadian officials have identified trends where documents issued from certain U.S. embassies and consulates are being misused.

“We have asked them to go back upstream and examine the pattern of these travel documents being issued and how come the people to whom they were issued appear to have had no intention of staying in the United States, but were simply using the documents as vehicles to get into the United States and then make a beeline for the Canadian border,” Goodale explained.

While the minister refused to identify diplomatic missions that have been problematic, Nigeria is one place where people obtained visas to visit the U.S. with the intention of heading to Canada.

The minister said acting Secretary of Homeland Security Elaine Duke was very receptive to the suggestion and indicated the U.S. is also looking at putting up signs at irregular crossings on its side of the border with messages to dissuade those seeking asylum in Canada. – CBC

The lesson taken away from this?  Next time, fearless leader Justin Trudeau feels it necessary to demonstrate his virtuousness to the world, he should keep his big mouth shut.  Tight.

Every time he opens that mouth of his, it costs us Canadians millions of those sweet. sweet federal and provincial tax dollars.

Maybe we need a border wall?
