Work continues. Once they are complete, the area will look like it did before only flatter. I wonder how much this is costing us taxpayers? Then there’s this. A concrete slab/footing of some sort built south of Pier 2 entrance. A base for a sign? Not sure. Any ideas?
I wonder what the cracking is about? Maybe they got the cold cranked up to 11 so the water will freeze before more leaves fall onto the surface? Just think. Every year, the trees will grow bigger. More leaves. Is this as good as it gets?
Back in mid May, city workers were getting the new park ready for the public. One of the things that was done was open up the newly installed taps and let the water flow. Let it flow to clean out the pipes? Whatever the reason, water poured onto the ground for quite a while. […]
Rumour has it that Costco is going to build a store on the FW First Nation Reserve. True? False? Who knows? I am sure that the company would like to have a presence in our city and their are definite tax benefits to locating on the reserve. Also, no problems with delayed approvals from the […]
The trees will only get bigger. Bigger trees have more leaves. Katherine Dugmore mentioned Brook Mcilroy’s attention to detail in the design of this waterfont development as being key to the success of Prince Arthur’s Landing. Not sure about this. Still think giant beach umbrellas might have been the way to go. Kinds of defeats […]
Toronto residents complain over this temporary paving work. See article here. In Thunder Bay, residents would be grateful that the area was not left as gravel for four to six months. Also, in Thunder Bay, this work would be more than likely permanent, not temporary.
Not sure what this means. The militarization of the Thunder Bay Police Department? Will rifles be next? I still don’t think the white pants are appropriate for something like Remembrance Day. Kind of a sombre occasion.
Fix one bridge. Shoot the other. Yup. The Marina Park Pedestrian Overpass needs some work. Not replacement evidently. A little Bondo Body Filler and some Tremclad rust paint…good as new. So how bad does a bridge have to be so that the City of Thunder Bay needs to spend almost $1 million to replace it […]
My guess is that the trees will be moved next year. That or another method of installing the ice surface will have to be found. This is pitiful.
new bridge at Trowbridge Falls is going to cost close to $900,000. I cannot believe that repairing the existing one will cost that much let alone more. What are the costs of rehab? As you can see, the City of Thunder Bay is counting on money from the Trans Canada Trails to bring the cost down by […]
