Canada – New Rules Requiring A Negative PCR Test At The US Border Now In Effect – A Negative PCR Test Is Meaningless. A Positive PCR Test On Someone who Is Symptom-Free Is Meaningless.

New rules requiring a negative COVID-19 test at the U.S. border now in effect

There could be lineups at Canada’s 117 border crossings with the U.S. Monday, as non-essential travellers now have to provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test taken in the last 72 hours.

It’s the next phase of Ottawa’s new travel restrictions, which came into effect on February 15. Travellers by land are required to show the results of their COVID-19 test. Negative tests need to have been taken within three days of the scheduled arrival at the border, but those permitted to enter the country can also present a positive COVID-19 test, as long as it was taken 14 to 90 days prior to arriving at the border.

All visitors or returning residents still have to quarantine for 14 days after crossing into the country.

Although the need to present test results could slow down proceedings at the border, 93 per cent of drivers will be waved through, as essential workers such as truck drivers and medical staff are exempt from the new restrictions. – CTV News

Once again, people must understand that a PCR test does not detect the SARS-CoV-2 virus.  It does detect a small piece of the virus RNA. RNA is found inside of the virus and can only be outside of the virus if the virus was destroyed by the body’s immune system. This could happened yesterday or a month or long before the test.

The person that has a negative test result may be infected or may not be infected.  Without symptoms, the test means nothing.

That is because the PCR test does not detect the virus. It detects virus RNA and that can only be detected if the body’s immune system as attacked and destroyed the virus.

The PCR test can only be used to confirm a SARS-CoV-2 infection if the person has symptoms.  It cannot be used to detect SARS-CoV-2.  Without symptoms, the test is meaningless.  When will governments understand that.

A negative test doesn’t mean that the person is NOT infected with the virus and a positive test without symptoms doesn’t mean the person IS  infected with the virus.

Requiring people at the border to have a PCR Test is a waste of time and money.

so rapid testing LTC workers 3x a week is meaningless according to the above info? If so why bother unless there are symptoms?
