Canada – Tam Says There Are Situations Where Wearing A Homemade Mask Outside Is ‘A Good Idea’

Tam says there are situations where wearing a homemade mask outside is ‘a good idea’

Officials in Canada have been wary of recommending masks, wanting the public to focus on the essential measures of physical distancing and frequent washing of hands.

But the messaging has begun to shift to include a place for homemade masks.

Tam said Saturday that there are scenarios in which she believes a homemade facial covering of some type — one that would not count as medical equipment needed by doctors — could be beneficial.

“For example, if you’re in public transit and you cannot easily practice the two metres (of physical distancing), for example, then having that additional covering, like covering up your cough, I think, is a good idea,” she said.

She emphasized that distance from each other is the most important thing. But if that distance is not possible, or is difficult, then “having an additional covering and a barrier to prevent you from spreading droplets to others … is a reasonable thing to do.”

This marks a shift in Tam’s advice on the topic. On Monday, she said she was concerned that wearing masks might tempt people to touch their faces more often, and potentially increase the risk of infection.  – CTVNews

Oooooooh, you are just realizung this now Tam?  This advice might have been very useful a month or two ago. You know, when people were still going to work?  When people in Toronto were packed like sardines in streetcars and subway trains?   You know, when this advice would have made a difference?

This country is run by idiots. Its obvious none of the people in charge have a clue as to what they are doing yet we are being told to follow their advice to the letter.

When the government officials and health officials lie to the public for YEARS that masks are not necessary and do not help the wearer they have their heads in the sand. Who in their right mind would not think that masks can’t help. People need to start using their brains. Just need to look at other countries around the world.

The trouble with Tam is that she is a doctor and wanted ALL the masks for the doctors and nurses etc. Been that way for years. F the people. Just think for a moment, if we were told back in early February masks and social distancing would slow down the spread of the virus, and help protect us, the rate of infection would be considerably lower, much lower, extremely lower especially from contact in grocery stores, streetcars, subways etc. IF we all had masks just imagine how many LESS people would have died and not needed medical care.

Yep Tam is changing her tune. She is not necessary any longer. She is not my spokesperson but unfortunately some in government still listen the the crap she spews out, If and when this pandemic ends (now they are saying maybe 2 years and 3 waves) the government will blame the W.H.O. the CDC and Health Department officials for all the actions they have taken. We were just following what the experts were recommending is the line we will get. They are all failing as leaders and can’t think for themselves.

The good thing about this pandemic is that Dougie hasn’t shown that stupid smile of his for awhile.

Dang! Human to animal transmission. 7 big cats at Bronx Zoo tests positive for coronavirus “Our cats were infected by a person caring for them who was asymptomatically infected with the virus or before that person developed symptoms,” said the zoo. Concern now for the gorillas, chimps and orangutans.
