Used to be called bus shelters…now they are bus stop enhancement projects. This one is at Bay and Algoma.
No….could have been part of last years Algoma Street construction work but apparently, the City of Thunder Bay is so broke that it cannot afford to pay for bus shelters on its own. It must receive Federal funding to build bus shelters. Yup. Bus shelters.
Now, according to rumour, Algoma Street is going to be fully closed for a couple of days to install these bus stop enhancement projects…….projects that are two months behind schedule. Two months? Yes. TWO months behind schedule. TWO MONTHS!! Its not like we are talking about building a splash pad at County Park. Its just a friggin’ bus shelter.
Lucky Bay and Algoma small business owners. Christmas shopping has now started and two days of having the main traffic access route to your shops closed for two days is wonderful.
Considering the existing bus stop consists of a bus stop sign on a street lamp post, enhancement of the area should not be all that difficult. Picking up the garbage in the area would enhance the bus stop a great deal.
