Stealing ideas is exactly what consultants do. They then put those stolen ideas in a nicely formatted report and present it to City Council. They then get paid for those stolen ideas they put in that report presented to City Council. Then they leave.
The difference here is City Admin cut out the middle man/woman and saved the city a big pile of cash. Whose a good City Admin? Whose a good City Admin. Your a good City Admin. Yes you are! Yes you are!
I have always believed that the extensive use of consultants is not necessary. City Admin can look around the world via the Internet, make a few phone calls to other cities and do some travelling.
There is no point in paying some company to reinvent the wheel. Solutions to most problems are out there. Its just a matter of looking.
The City of Thunder Bay most likely has budgeted a certain amount of money for consultant work. I am sure that the consultants that receive that money, are expecting that money to be given to them. Even if the work is something our over-paid City Administration could easily do themselves…..or should I say is something our over-paid City Administration SHOULD be able to do themselves. Most likely, they cannot.
Thunder Bay City Admin is just too f***ing lazy. Why do anything at all? You can never be fired, have zero responsibility, make a lot of money, get regular pay raises….
