I understand that the section of Algoma Street between Cornwall and Bay is scheduled for full closure in the near future. Some work is going to be done on the one year old street.
Last year, the street torn up for months. Closed for months. Local businesses had a tough time.
It will be interesting to see how the City of Thunder Bay handles this. It could go two ways:
- Street closed on any day except Sunday. This will cost local businesses sales. How much is unknown.
- Street will be closed on a Sunday. Most local businesses are closed anyway and traffic is light. This will cost the City of Thunder Bay money to pay for overtime. Possible that city employees may refuse to work on Sunday.
So, local businesses will lose money or City of Thunder Bay will lose money. Any bets as to which of the two will be out some cash?
Painted the shrubs too. You can never use too little paint.
I wonder if this piece of street art has anything to do with the work that is going to be done?
