Mr. Wojak is correct. The money being spent by the City of Thunder Bay to address the deplorable condition of our streets and sidewalks is a drop in the bucket of what is actually needed. The work that is being carried out is simply window dressing as I stated in an earlier blog entry.
Instead of eliminating the cause of the pavement deterioration, the City is just polishing that turd. City Administrators are hoping taxpayers will be pacified by work crews repaving their streets. Making those streets look all nice and black and flat. Spending as little as possible. Unfortunately, less than five years later, the distortions and cracks are back with a vengeance The turd, no matter how hard you polish it, is still a turd.
Its all misdirection. You know the trick that magicians use to fool your eyes and brain. City Admin makes it look like more money is being spent fixing the streets when all that is happening is the same amount of money is being spread over a larger area. Thinner.
There you go…Magic!
