I believe that Terrace Bay Pulp is only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to government loan defaults. Thunder Bay Fine Papers, Global Sticks, Tornado Medical, Portside…blah, blah, blah. For some reason, the Ontario Government never gets tough on these shirkers.
Then there is the City of Thunder Bay’s dealings with Buchanan Forest Products. There are the two sawmills plus the Pool 6 fiasco. Clean up? No thank you. Taxes owing? Pay them? No thank you.
You have to wonder just what does Buchanan have on our elected representatives? Is he that smart, or our people just that stupid. Hmmm. Then along comes Joe B. and our councillors fight for the honour of throwing money at the man. No request is too outrageous. No amount of money is too much. Can he/will he still leave? Sure he can. I still believe he will.
Meanwhile, the city infrastructure just falls apart.
Who keeps voting Gravelle into office? Who keeps voting our council into office? How do we get rid of our Administration?
