The City of Thunder Bay wants City Council embrace online voting for the 2018 municipal election.
I have posted on this issue before. Several posts. I am not a fan.
I have a new question about online voting:
- If a voter that wants to vote over the Internet has to use some sort of secure code or password that would confirm their identification, does it not follow that their would be a record of how each person voted stored in a database somewhere? You know, records linking names with votes cast?
Could that stored data not be stolen? Think Sony hack and the fallout the release of all that personal information caused. Internet security is a fallacy. There is no such thing.
What could someone do with that kind of information?
